He is employed by the Manx Heritage Foundation, and his role is to advise and assist organisations in their use of Manx.

The society was founded in 1899, and is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Manx Gaelic.

Coonceil ny Gaelgey
This department's duties include providing authoritative Manx versions of street names, the titles of government departments and so forth, and the creation of new words and phrases in Manx Gaelic.
