Description

Conrhenny, just outside Onchan, in the Isle of Man, is a popular area for horse riders

Conrhenny plantation, on the outskirts of Onchan, has recently been roaded for the first time.  It consists of 58 hectares planted in 1968 with mainly Lodgepole Pine and Sitka Spruce.  The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has started a conversion project to convert this plantation into a broadleaf woodland.  This will then be linked to the Ennemona Plantation which was converted to broadleaf in 1993.

This is another popular area for horse riders.  Also of benefit, are the habitats that this plantation has created for our native flora, fauna and wildlife.
