Description

Chibbanagh, at The Braaid, in the Isle of Man is a popular plantation with horse riders

Chibbanagh, at The Braaid, was planted between the years 1962 and 1968.  The central section was planted up with Sitka Spruce in 1984.  It is a relatively exposed site of some 49 hectares.  During a thinning programme a forester with a sense of humour left one "lonesome pine" tree on the top ridge which resulted in the local newspaper doing a small feature on it.  This plantation on the outskirts of Douglas is a favourite with horse riders.
