Description

A small experimental plantation, the Ayres plantation sits within the island's only National Nature Reserve

 

This was an experimental plantation of just 1 hectare.  It was planted in 1967 and it sits within the island's only National Nature Reserve.  It is a popular site for roosting owls.  Its use now is purely for academic interest.
