Coronavirus press conference Wednesday

Today’s press conference took place at 4pm with Minister for the Department of Education, Sport and Culture Dr Alex Allison MHK.


Two further deaths from coronavirus have been confirmed in the Isle of Man. Both were male with underlying health conditions and passed away at Noble's Hospital. 


The morning update reportedthe following:


Two further confirmed positive tests for coronavirus.


The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Isle of Man now stands at 256.


In total 239 patients have been instructed to self-isolate and 13 are being treated at the hospital. The contact tracing process is already underway led by Public Health.


There have been 2,087 concluded tests, 88 people are awaiting results and 77 people are awaiting tests.


In total 151 individuals are presumed recovered. 


The afternoon update said the following:


Since the last update (11am Wednesday 15 April) there have been two further confirmed positive tests for coronavirus. 


The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Isle of Man now stands at 258.


In total 241 patients have been instructed to self-isolate and 13 are being treated at the hospital. The contact tracing process is already underway led by Public Health.


There have been 2,089 concluded tests, 155 people are awaiting results and 66 people are awaiting tests.


In total 151 individuals are presumed recovered. 


There have been four deaths caused by the coronavirus in the Isle of Man.
