New stamps showcasing the Island’s historic transport have been released today.
Part three of the Isle of Man Post Office’s stamp collection ‘All Aboard Please!’ features six stamps depicting buses which entered service between the 1950s and 1970s.
Local artist Peter Hearsey was specially commissioned to produce the images - historian and author Richard Davis provides commentary.
The stamps augment the 'All Aboard Please!' issues of 1999 and 2015.
They feature Manx buses from both the Douglas Corporation and Road Services fleets, which subsequently merged to become Isle of Man National Transport in1976.
General Manager of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins Maxine Cannon says: "We are pleased to continue this acclaimed series of stamps which represents part of our Islands transport heritage.
“Working with local artist Peter Hearsey and author Richard Davis in the past has proven to be a success and a guarantee for quality.
“We are therefore delighted that both, Peter and Richard, have committed to continue working on the series and I’m sure it will be well received by the general public, stamp collectors and vintage transport enthusiasts alike.”
