A new interim Director of Hospitals has been appointed to oversee Noble’s and Ramsey Cottage Hospital.
John Coleman takes up the position following the departure of director Mike Quinn.
A paramedic by profession he has substantial experience at NHS Trusts and Health Boards in England and Wales.
The appointment has been made on an interim basis, pending the outcome of the independent review into the Island’s health and social care system currently being undertaken by Sir Jonathan Michael.
Sir Jonathan’s final report and recommendations, due in May, may lead to a reshaping of services in future, and a decision on the long-term leadership of hospitals will be made after it has been considered by Tynwald.
Joining the team as interim Specialist HR Lead is Yasmin Rafiq, a change management specialist and project leader with extensive experience at NHS Trusts in England.
She will concentrate on staffing across the Directorate.
Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford says: "I’m delighted we have appointed two such experienced professionals, with excellent track records in health services.
"They will bring fresh eyes and new thinking to a number of issues and I look forward to the contribution both John and Yasmin will make in the coming months."
