Three people were rescued from a house in Ramsey yesterday after becoming trapped when a fire broke out.
Firefighters were called to the scene just before 5am after reports of a large blaze which had spread to two properties, two cars, an oil tank, and a shed.
The people were retrieved via the first-floor window – everyone else managed to get to safety themselves.
Residents were treated on scene for smoke inhalation by the Isle of Man Ambulance Service.
Due to the intense heat the structural integrity of one of the properties appeared to be compromised – crews remained on scene for four hours.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says investigations are now being conducted to determine how the fire started.
