Homes evacuated after ordnance is found in garden

by isleofman.com 7th January 2019

Some homeowners in Douglas have been evacuated this afternoon after an old ordnance was discovered in a garden.

Police say they are currently dealing with an incident at Watterson Lane.

Until the object has been confirmed safe, or made safe, officers will be requesting that certain households are evacuated.

They are now calling at homes to let the occupants know if they are affected.

A road closure is also in place at the junction of Fenella Avenue and Watterson Lane in Willaston - this extends 100m along Watterson Lane towards Cronk Y Berry.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it will keep people informed of any developments.
