New room helping staff improve their wellbeing

500 staff at Old Mutual International are taking advantage of a new meeting space which has been designed to improve health and wellbeing.

A ‘Thrive Hub’ has been created at King Edward Bay House perfect for colleagues to relax, chat, meet for coffee or lunch and hold informal meetings.

The Thrive programme is available to all employees across Quilter plc, which is Old Mutual International’s parent company.

It focuses on four key areas that can help anyone to improve their mental wellbeing, energy levels, and resilience.

During a recent health and wellbeing week a variety of activities were held to support the Thrive programme.

These included chair yoga, laughing workshops, mental health awareness and mindfulness sessions, dementia friends (an Alzheimer’s Society initiative), a health kiosk to measure blood pressure, BMI and general lifestyle, as well as financial wellbeing workshops.

Chief Executive Peter Kenny says: “Thrive is all about helping our people to take care of their health and wellbeing so that they are able to perform, feel and be at their best.

“Achieving that goal has obvious benefits at work by enabling everyone to achieve their full potential.

“Thrive can also identify and help people to address issues which make them feel happier and healthier in their personal lives too.”
