Minister clears up Manx meat queries at hospital

by isleofman.com 29th November 2018

100 per cent of beef, pork, lamb and sausages served at Noble’s Hospital are Manx.

That’s the message from the Department of Health and Social Care.

Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson raised the issue in a question for written answer in this week’s House of Keys.

Minister David Ashford confirmed the hospital is unable to secure a supply of locally produced chicken, turkey, gammon or bacon in the volumes required.

He says the department is continuing to work closely with the Food Business Development Manager at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture in order to identify future opportunities.
