The Isle of Man Post Office says it will be ‘very disappointed’ if its workers vote for strike action.
It says it believes the Communications Workers Union is seeking support.
Chairman Julie Edge says: "Just the threat of strike action is highly damaging to everyone at the Post Office and our customers.
"We will be very disappointed if the CWU members vote in favour of strike action.
"We are acutely aware at this time of year that our valued customers heavily rely on our postal service and trust us to deliver their special cards, letters and presents.
"However we can assure them that should a strike materialise, we have a robust contingency plan which will fall into place which will minimise any potential disruption to the excellent service we usually provide."
The Isle of Man Post Office says it continues to be open to further talks with the CWU.
