Free parking on Douglas Promenade over festive period

by isleofman.com 19th November 2018

Shoppers will be able to park on Douglas Promenade walkway for free over the festive period.

From Thursday, November 22nd the area between the War Memorial and the Bottleneck will open.

People will be able to park for two hours with a parking disc until January 6th.

Spaces for disabled users have been introduced this year, with a four-hour limit, opposite Howard Street and Regent Street.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer says: "Supporting the local economy is the key factor in allowing parking on the promenade during the festive period.

"It is the busiest time of the year for many retailers, and it’s important to provide extra spaces."
