Tynwald will be asked to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of accepting refugees from Syria.

Garff MHK Daphne Caine will ask her fellow politicians to support her calls to establish a Tynwald Select Committee on the issue.

She wants a committee of three to look at what facilities would be required on the Isle of Man to enable participation in the Syrian vulnerable persons resettlement scheme and to report back.

The next Tynwald sitting will take place on November 20th.
