Local students interested in a career in construction will have the opportunity to visit the new Premier Inn construction site.
Dandara is running a series of guided tours of the site to showcase the opportunities and range of careers available within the Dandara Group.
Project Manager Len Arnold will be leading the site tours for Year 10 and 11 students as part of the Employability and Skills event at the Villa Marina.
He says: "It's not often that students with an interest have the chance to see a working site in operation, particularly on a project of this kind.
"Premier Inn is the UK’s largest hotel brand and the development is progressing well.
"I am sure students considering a career in the industry will be keen to get a first-hand, behind-the-scenes look at this development, experience what it’s like to be on an active site and learn more about the health and safety procedures and construction process."
Dandara is building the hotel for the chain which has more than 780 hotels around the UK.
The 85-bedroom hotel in Market Street in Douglas incorporates five floors of accommodation and a restaurant and bar – it’s due to complete in Spring 2019.
Programme Manager for Construction at University College Isle of Man, Corelli Bentham, added: "This isn’t just for bricklaying students but a wide range of young people are likely to be interested, whether that be potential future architects, structural engineers, interior designers, plumbers, electricians, tilers, plasters and the like."
