Police crackdown on motoring faults

Police say they stopped and examined 20 vehicles on Monday – issuing 17 vehicle defect notification notices.

Officers say they were for defective lights – motorists now have seven days to fix the faults.

One vehicle stopped had a bald tyre and the cord was showing – the car was stopped and the driver issued with a fixed penalty notice, three penalty pints and a ?120 fine.
