Beach cleaning volunteers tackle southern spots

by isleofman.com 30th October 2018

Volunteers from Old Mutual International have spent their time clearing Island beaches.

29 staff from the Isle of Man, Hong Kong and Ireland spent a day with Beach Buddies at Fort Island and Derbyhaven.

They collected more than 30 bags of assorted rubbish and a lot of golf balls – and larger items too big to fit into refuse sacks, including an outboard motor and a large tyre.

All of the litter pickers were from Old Mutual International’s Risk and Regulation team.

This was the third time in recent months that Old Mutual International employees have helped the charity which was founded by Bill Dale BEM.

The volunteering exercise is part of a range of Old Mutual International initiatives to support local charities, and help communities prosper
