Local shop makes it to final of Amazon awards

by isleofman.com 2nd October 2018

A card and gift shop in Port Erin has been selected as a finalist in The Amazon Growing Business Awards.

Mantons Cards is one of seven companies from across the British Isles to make the final and the only Manx company to be a finalist in these awards.

Mantons impressed the judges who said: ‘The quantity of high calibre nominations we received was phenomenal and Mantons were chosen after careful deliberation from the judging panel”.

Owner Chris Beards says: “With all the difficulties currently affecting bricks and mortar retail, this is a fantastic achievement and motivation for the Mantons team.

"After winning awards such as The British Independent Retailer of the Year Award, everyone at Mantons is delighted to be named as a Growing Business Awards finalist, especially as we are the only Manx company to ever achieve this honour.

“This is well deserved recognition for all our team's hard work and commitment to help our customers, which is something all of the us at Mantons take pride in.

"Having previously won separate awards for our customer service, product selection, marketing and window displays, it is fantastic to be recognised by awards that recognise our efforts to grow the business and keep bricks and mortar retail alive on the Island.

“Awards like this reflect on the whole Mantons team who really are the unsung heroes of our success.”

The awards are supported by the CBI and are now in their 20th year.

The winners of this year’s retail awards will be revealed at a ceremony in London on November 28th November.
