Hosepipe ban is lifted

by isleofman.com 24th September 2018

People on the Isle of Man can use their hosepipes again!

The hosepipe ban put in place by Manx Utilities has been lifted.

Chairman Dr Alex Allinson said: "I am very grateful that the people of our Island have risen to the challenge when raw water stocks became extremely low following a prolonged period of very warm weather.

"The majority of people accepted the ‘Temporary-Use-Ban’ (or hosepipe ban as it is known) seriously and those efforts have most certainly helped the Island sustain clean drinking water stocks going into the winter months.”

"I would like to thank the people and businesses of the Island for thinking a little bit differently regarding water conservation, for putting up with the inconvenience and most of all for supporting us through the ban period."
