More than 100 cyclists are due to take part in this weekend's Isle of Man Cycling Challenge.

It will take place on the TT Mountain Course on Saturday.

Among the cyclists will be Armin Ziegler, who has ridden his velomobile from Switzerland to take part in the cycling challenge, and Mark Howard who is a hand cyclist and returning for his third year to raise funds for The Bridge for Heroes, a charity which helps injured army veterans.

Also taking part are Steve Wood, a TT racer from the late 1980s, and Manx treasure Julian Power BEM who has taken part in the Cycling Challenge every year (bar one when he was on holiday) since 2012. 

The Cycling Challenge starts at the TT Grandstand at 8.30am and will finish at 5pm. 

Event organiser Laura Mearns says: "If drivers out on the TT course could keep an eye out for the cyclists and encourage them that would be much appreciated.

"Many of the riders are coming to the Island for the first time, so it’s great if the welcome is warm, even if the weather isn’t!"
