Clean-up volunteers to tackle Marine Drive

by isleofman.com 14th September 2018

Volunteers will tackle Marine Drive this weekend in a bid to free it from discarded rubbish.

Beach Buddies will hold its weekly clean up in the popular Douglas location.

On all previous visits to Marine Drive the group has found evidence of fly-tipping – including TV screens, computers and furniture.

A spokesperson for Beach Buddies says: "We are realistic enough to expect that there will probably be another TV screen to find, but organisers are keeping fingers crossed that the message is being heard before this weekend’s event."

The clean-up will take place at 10.30am on Sunday morning – volunteers will be provided with all necessary equipment.
