Canines kept clean after community funding

by isleofman.com 5th September 2018

The ManxSPCA has put community funding to good use – helping keep the Island's canines clean!

The animal charity received a donation from Manx Telecom's It's Our Community scheme last year.

The money has been spent on a new dog bath for the kennels at Ard Jerkyll.

ManxSPCA General Manager Juana Warburton said: "The ManxSPCA rescues and rehomes more than a hundred dogs every year, and most of them need a bath from time to time to wash off grease and mud.

"Some dogs also have skin conditions which means that they have to have regular baths with medicated shampoo.

"The new dog bath helps to make bath time stress-free and fun."

Last year ManxSPCA was one of 19 organisations that received Manx Telecom It’s Our Community grants – and there’s still time for community groups to apply for grants in the 2018 scheme.
