Racer transferred to UK for hospital treatment after Lightweight crash

Local motorbike racer Dan Sayle has been transferred to the UK for hospital treatment after a crash on Saturday.

He was involved in an incident at Ballaspur during the Lightweight Classic TT Race.

Race organisers say he suffered head, chest and spinal injuries and his condition remains serious.  

They’ve also revealed further details about other riders injured during the Festival of Motorcycling.

Racer Rob Whittall suffered a head injury in Monday’s Superbike Race.

He came off at Keppel Gate and was taken by helicopter to Noble’s Hospital – his condition is described as stable.

David Crussell suffered back and chest injuries after a crash during the Superbike session on Friday – he’s expected to be discharged from Noble’s in the coming days.

David Linsdell is described as stable following an incident at Black Hut during the Junior practice on Thursday – he is in hospital receiving treatment for a leg injury.

Bernie Wright was taken to a hospital in the UK for treatment to leg injuries after a crash at Black Hut during the Junior Classic TT practice last week – he remains serious but stable.
