Daredevils are being encouraged to enter this year’s Microgaming Soapbox Race – and help raise money for a local charity.
Entries are now open for the event which will take place in Douglas on September 1st.
Prizes will be awarded for the fastest lap, highest speed, biggest jump and best crash – there will also be accolades for outstanding kart design and best dressed.
Event organiser Elliott Moore says: "We’re calling on all daredevils to enter this year’s Microgaming Soapbox Race, which is set to be the most exciting race of the non-motorised kind on the Island's event calendar!
"There are three major jumps on the course that promise thrills (and spills) for adrenaline seeking drivers and spectators to enjoy.
"Not forgetting the usual chaos and crazy antics from the quirkiest and most creative karts as they hurtle to victory.”
All proceeds raised from the event will go to Hyperbaric Isle of Man which provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients on the Island.
