A comprehensive review of higher education funding is being carried out.
That’s according to the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture who says his department is reviewing the Student Award Regulations.
Graham Cregeen revealed options are being considered to increase the amount of maintenance grants available to those going into higher education in the UK.
The review will also consider increasing the upper income level for eligibility for a maintenance grant.
The department will consult on the principles underpinning a new scheme in the Autumn.
