Police say a man has been arrested following the death of a motorbike rider last week.

48-year-old Robert Andrew Robinson, from Ramsey, died after a crash near Ballacrye in Ballaugh on Thursday.

He’d been riding his Honda CB1000 from Ballaugh towards Ramsey when he collided with another vehicle at around 7.20pm.

Sergeant Jamie Tomlinson says: "Following this collision officers from the accident investigation department immediately attended the scene together with colleagues from the other emergency services.

"A number of enquiries have been undertaken since the time of the collision and are currently ongoing.

"However I still wish to appeal to any person who was at or near the location at the time of the collision, and who may have information that could assist us with our enquiries, to contact either Constable Stephen HALL from the Roads Policing Unit, or myself, as soon as possible at Police Headquarters on 631212."

The man who was arrested at the scene has been bailed pending further enquiries.
