Coach exhaust sparks grass fire at The Sound

by isleofman.com 27th July 2018

A grass fire at The Sound yesterday was sparked by the exhaust of a coach.

That’s according to the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service which was called out just before 1.30pm.

The Sound Cafe restaurant was evacuated – with staff using portable hand extinguishers and water to try and bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters say it had been threatening to spread towards a gas tank and oil store.
