Rally organisers urged to show commitment to event rules

by isleofman.com 25th July 2018

Rally Isle of Man organisers have been asked to show their commitment to new conditions for the 2018 event.

The Department of Infrastructure says it's working with the group to review a range of issues in relation to planning.

A meeting took place last week – the DOI says after ‘productive discussions’ new conditions were established.

Minister Ray Harmer says: "The Department is fully supportive of motorsport events being staged on Manx roads, but safety must be the primary consideration.

"Events such as these have to be well-run and anyone wishing to hold an event on closed roads must demonstrate they are capable of doing so, while ensuring residents and businesses are kept fully informed of plans at the earliest opportunity."

The event is due to take place between September 13th and 15th.
