Gambling Supervision Commission not investigating win a property competition

by isleofman.com 19th July 2018

People who are concerned about how a recent competition to win a house was conducted should contact the Gambling Supervision Commission.

That’s the message from the Island’s Treasury Minister – despite confirming the commission is not currently investigating it.

Alf Cannan was asked about the recent win a property contest in Tynwald - it saw a local woman offering the opportunity to win her home for ?20.

Responding to a written question Mr Cannan said it would be unlawful to promote a lottery in the Isle of Man without an online gambling licence.

Mr Cannan added: “If any member of the public has any evidence or concerns regarding the operation of the competition I would ask them to contact or the Gambling Supervision Commission.”
