Local groups on the Isle of Man are in line for a ?22,000 boost thanks to the Co-op.
The retailer imposed a 5p charge for single use carrier bags on Monday as a way of curbing plastic waste.
Money raised from the sale of the bags will fund the Local Community Fund.
This will then be distributed amongst local causes including:
Without Wings - The Manx Autoimmune Arthritis Trust
Ramsey Cottage Hospital League of Friends
1st Laxey Scout Group
Southern Aquatics Swimming For The Disabled
Men In Sheds Port Erin.
There are 10 Co-op stores on the Isle of Man.
John McNeill is the Divisional Managing Director at the Co-op – he says: "Together with our members and customers, we are reducing, reusing, recycling and, reinvesting in our communities."
