A 27-year-old biker from the UK has died following a crash on the Mountain Road.

He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a car.

It happened in the area of Brandywell at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

The occupants of the car were taken to hospital and later released.

Police now want to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Brandywell at the time of the crash – anyone who saw anything is asked to contact Police Headquarters.

Officers have also thanked members of the public who assisted the Emergency Services at the scene.
