Homelessness is an issue on the Isle of Man.
That's the opinion of the Policy and Reform Minister who yesterday told Tynwald that it’s a "complex area that cannot be fixed by firing a single silver bullet".
The housing division of the Department of Infrastructure is working with charities to ensure direct referrals for emergencies and has a number of 'supported tenancies' in place.
Chris Thomas says this means it is now 'much quicker and much easier' to house someone who is in need and who can be flexible about where they can be housed.
He also says a range of government departments are working with the third sector and private organisations with details of proposed policy changes to be revealed in due course.
