Future of enterprise scheme under review

by isleofman.com 20th June 2018

The future of the Island's Enterprise Development Scheme is under review.

That’s the message from Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly who says the time is right to look at it more broadly.

He was quizzed on the matter in Tynwald yesterday by Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker.

Politicians heard a review of all financial assistance and enterprise support schemes is underway – with a new framework promised by October.

Mr Skelly added: "The Enterprise Development Scheme is part of that review and although it has supported a number of businesses since its launch in 2016.

"We are in a different place now and the time is right to now look at it more broadly against the needs we have today."
