by isleofman.com 18th June 2018

Police say there was an increase in serious collisions during TT 2018.

Statistics from the festival fortnight show an increase in collisions – particularly on the Mountain Road - which cover fractures to life changing injuries.

Overall collisions were down from 82 to 76 – the lowest amount since 2005.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says this success is down to the new 50mph limit which was enforced along the Coast Road.

There were just two collisions on this stretch.

Overall demand on the police was down by 18 per cent with 1083 calls for assistance.
