Teenager rescued from beach in Peel

by isleofman.com 12th June 2018

A teenager had to be given urgent medical attention after being found on a beach in Peel on Friday.

Peel RNLI was launched at 11pm to assist the Coastguard after reports the boy had been injured.

Volunteer crew attended the beach adjacent to the old Victorian swimming baths and provided immediate first aid.

The teen was placed on a stretcher and taken off the beach in the lifeboat's daughter vessel before being transferred to the main lifeboat and then to a waiting ambulance.

Mechanic and Coxswain Paul Cain said: "Tonight's call out was a great example of our team work with the local Coastguard and how through the dedication of our volunteer crew we are able to respond to a variety of incidents.

"It also shows how the casualty care training is invaluable in incidents such as this one."
