Senior TT victory for Peter Hickman

by isleofman.com 11th June 2018
TT racer Peter Hickman has become the fastest road racer in the world – following an epic battle in this year's Senior TT.

He set out a new outright lap record of 135.452mph on his final lap – defeating second place Dean Harrison by just two seconds.

Harrison had led the race for five and a half of the six laps – but it was Hickman who managed to bag victory after storming the mountain section.

Speaking afterwards he said: "I knew that Dean was going to be fast, but I'd always been strong on the Mountain section throughout the week.

"It's a bit like a short circuit and I came into my own on it. I thought it if I was within five or six seconds on the last lap I could have a go over the Mountain."

Manxman Conor Cummins took the third podium spot.
