American fined after cycling on closed road

by isleofman.com 6th June 2018

An American man who crossed the TT Course on a bicycle – during racing – has been fined ?500.

32-year-old Luke Browning appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.

He admitted going on closed roads after exiting the Access Road in Douglas on Saturday.

Police say there was delay in dealing with the matter at the time due to the ‘full circumstances’ of the matter not being communicated to race control at the time.

Browning had been moved to a safe location by race marshals and was said to have ‘fully cooperated with them at the time’.

He was fined ?500 and ordered to pay court costs of ?125.

In a statement on Facebook the Isle of Man Constabulary said: "IOM Police and IOM TT Marshals continue to work closely to make the races as safe as possible."
