Lifeboat rescues yacht with engine trouble

by isleofman.com 5th June 2018

Douglas Lifeboat was called into action last night to rescue a yacht which had suffered engine failure.

Volunteer crew went to the aid of the 25-foot vessel at 8.14pm – it was four miles from Douglas Harbour at Clay Head.

The sole occupant, who had travelled from Whitehaven, had radioed for help after both fan belts on the engine failed.

The yacht was towed back to Battery Harbour.
