TT rider Steve Mercer has been described as ‘stable’ after a crash during practice last week.

He was involved in a collision with a course car during an incident on Wednesday.

He was flown to hospital in Liverpool and is said to be receiving ongoing assessment.

In a post on Facebook his wife says: "Steve is still in critical care and will be for a while yet.

"He's still unable to fully breathe for himself however they are hopeful he may be able to try soon."
