TT rider Steve Mercer has been flown to hospital in the UK following a crash with a course car last night.

His wife took to social media to confirm he’d suffered ‘serious injuries’ following an accident on his way back to the Grandstand.

The session had been red-flagged following an incident during the Superbike session at Churchtown which claimed the live of local man Dan Kneen.

In a statement ACU Events Ltd said a rider had been involved in a collision with a course car, attending the incident, at Ballacrye.
