Teenager suffers serious injuries after cliff fall

by isleofman.com 29th May 2018

A teenage boy has been hospitalised after falling over a cliff face near Douglas Head Lighthouse.

Emergency services – including the Coastguard and RNLI – were called into action just after 8pm last night.

The 15-year-old had slipped and fallen onto the rocks below suffering serious injuries.

Douglas Coastguard say on arrival they were met with a 'semi-conscious' casualty – they lowered two cliff technicians with a stretcher to the boy and transferred him to the waiting lifeboat.

Police are urging members of the public not to jump or 'encroach' any cliff edges saying 'as beautiful as it is it is a treacherous and unforgiving landscape'.
