Discussions are underway with people who could act as an independent health regulator for the Isle of Man.
That’s the message from the Department of Health and Social Care which says 'some progress' has been made in making an appointment.
Minister David Ashford was asked to provide an update in this week's House of Keys sitting.
He says initial contact has been made with regulators of health and social care services across the UK and has established a shortlist of those who would be legally able to conduct regulatory work.
However he says the DHSC is not yet in a position to consider policy options.
