Police officers to be praised for extraordinary work

by isleofman.com 16th May 2018

Police officers on the Isle of Man will be recognised for their 'extraordinary' work next week.

The annual Chief Constable's Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday.

It honours officers, special constables, support staff, community volunteers and members of the public who’ve gone the extra mile.

Chief Constable Gary Roberts says: "We live in challenging and interesting times, where the whole concept of public service is often under-appreciated.

"Yet day in, day out, ordinary men and women do extraordinary things to keep the people of the Isle of Man safe.

"I feel privileged to be able to recognise their service at my annual awards ceremony.

"Yet again officers have done some wonderful things, ranging from saving the lives of people who were in imminent danger, to working tirelessly to achieve justice for victims of terrible abuse.

"Their efforts help keep this wonderful place safe."
