182 people on the Isle of Man have responded to a consultation on public sector housing.
The government study – which was looking at proposals to make the allocation of housing fairer – ran between December and February.
More than 70 per cent of people who completed the survey agreed with proposed amendments to the existing access and eligibility criteria.
The current criteria for housing needs was last assessed in 2002.
MHK Julie Edge has responsibility for Public Estates and Housing – she says: "We believe the proposed amendments will succeed in modernising the process and, crucially, allow the people most in need of support to be correctly prioritised."
Feedback will be considered during the development of policy recommendations for consideration by the Department of Infrastructure and Tynwald.
