The Christmas Tombola made ?157 - many thanks to all who donated prizes and/or "tried their luck". All winners have been notified and will have their prizes by the weekend.
Jan Gaskill is still looking for a couple of helpers for the Sponsors Lunch on Wednesday 17 January. Just a couple of hours to help the club say "Thank you" to all the companies and individuals who help us to keep the running costs as low as possible. Heating, lighting and cleaning give us some hefty bills during the winter. Talking of sponsors, does any member have contacts with a cars sales/garage that would like to have an advertising banner in the indoor court. If so contact me and I'll follow it up.
We currently have a quantity of used tennis balls to sell (?5 for 20) which are suitable for dogs. Ring 861497 to order some.
Race Night - Friday 26 January - the letter and Race Sheets will be e-mailed to all members by the weekend. Robby Orr has offered to take the supper orders so please place your orders early - contact Robby by e-mail robbyorr@manx.net. All the races need a sponsor - already the Friday Morning Ladies are sponsoring a race - probably be called The Fillies Furlong. Race sponsorship is ?50 so hopefully some companies will have "the feel good factor" after the holiday. Owners, trainers and jockeys can also be sponsored and you can have a gamble on the night and we will be having a raffle. I've already had some good prizes donated.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas, lots of tasty food and nice gifts.
Now we can look forward to the summer and playing tennis in the sun!!
Hence the serious stuff - junior coaching re-starts as from Saturday 13 January with the 12 noon and 1pm for Mini Tennis sessions. There is still some room for a few new players (over 4yrs) with the offer of three free taster sessions. If they like it there is a special price membership for 3 months, up to 31 March 2018. ALL other club junior sessions will follow on throughout the week.
