Launch of SingularityU Chapter on the Island

by isleofman.com 10th November 2017

Singularity University (SU), in partnership with SU alumni in the Isle of Man, has announced the creation of a SingularityU Chapter in Douglas, to be led by Owen Cutajar, Kurt Roosen and Andrew Gleave. SingularityU Douglas Chapter will bring the awareness and influence of a network of entrepreneurs, executives, government leaders and more, who are leading the way to solving the world’s biggest challenges with innovative use of rapidly advancing technologies. The chapters are part of Singularity's global reach programme, which encourages, through its alumni, the dissemination of exponential concepts and the development of entrepreneurship in various regions around the globe.

There is a Launch Event on the 22nd November at The British on North Quay to share some of the SU thinking about exponential technologies, the global challenges that they face and to have a debate around how this impacts us at a local level.

They will introduce us to the way we can start thinking about the future challenges that impact not only us, but everyone in the world. The challenges are varied, from food and energy scarcity, all the way to how security, health and prosperity are being stretched and reshaped by emerging technologies.

It is intended that all sessions will be highly interactive with some videos leading into conversations and breakout groups where everyone is encouraged to let their imaginations loose in the general group and in smaller breakout sessions.

They'd encourage anyone who has an interest in learning how to fit into an exponentially changing world and making a contribution to it to attend and join the conversation.

Tickets are free and can be booked here: http://owen.in/singularityudouglas
