The Rotary Club of Ramsey will be bringing some magic to the town on Friday 24th November, when the Magicians of Mann stage a show at Bunscoill Rhumsaa. 

Rotarian David Evans explained: "The fun-filled evening will help the Rotary Club provide Sight boxes for two schools  in Nepal,  in cooperation with the Pahar Trust. The boxes contain equipment that will enable visually impaired pupils to participate in group activities with normally sighted pupils. Items include special goalballs, running tethers and blindfolds that provide a means of encouraging more interaction between all the pupils and thereby prevent segregation.  Shree Namuna Machindra School near Kathmandu has 37 visually impaired pupils and Shree Jana Prakash Secondary School, near Pokhara, has 15. The Sight Boxes will help them all to enjoy their school lives that little bit more than is possible at present."

The local magic club last performed in Ramsey two years ago, to an enthusiastic 'full house.'  The show is being produced by Lexi Dernie, is a member of The Magic Circle, the world's foremost magic club.  Paul Martin, chairman of the Magicians of Mann, said "We're delighted to have been invited back, and have some amazing acts to entertain and amaze a family audience.  Nine members will be competing for the Arthur Culpin Cup, and the title Magician of Mann 2017.  John Cain, the Peel magician who won the trophy last year, will close the show with some of his astounding miracles." 

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30 p.m., can be bought at the Ramsey Warehouse shop.  They cost ?10 for adults and ?5 for children. Family tickets, for 2 adults and 2 children, are only ?25.
