Gough Law has attained the highest position achievable in the Chamber and Partners’ 2018 UK rankings.
The Douglas based litigation specialist has again retained its Band 1 position.
The rankings are based on several factors including technical legal ability, professional conduct, commercial astuteness and diligence.
Chambers is highly respected within the industry and widely considered as a leading legal resource. It has been ranking lawyers since 1990 and has been independently voted the best of its kind in a survey of 20,000 global professionals.
Within the ranking a client praised the team at Gough Law for ‘quick and thorough responses to all of my questions, and their clear, concise legal advice which has proven spot-on in all matters’, while another commented that ‘their client care is superb’.
Directors Alan Gough and Chiva Arthurs were also individually recognised. Alan Gough is one of only five lawyers in the Isle of Man to have been accredited with a prestigious Band 1 ranking.
Chambers comments state that he is ‘deeply experienced in the most sophisticated of commercial disputes, particularly those involving asset-tracing and injunctive relief’, with a client noting that ‘he is reassuring and experienced. Chiva Arthurs, meanwhile, was listed in the ‘up-and-coming’ category in the prestigious rankings.

The Chambers ranking follows the Legal 500 Tier 1 accreditation which Gough Law received last month for the third consecutive year.
Although the firm is not one of the largest on the Island it continues to be ranked alongside the industry’s bigger players.
