Developer Dandara has received the highest accolades at the 2017-2018 UK Property Awards.
At a gala presentation in London, attended by more than 500 property development, architecture, interior design and property agency guests, Dandara was awarded seven highly coveted “5 Star” ratings, the highest possible, plus wins in five additional categories.
In September, it was announced that Dandara had won 12 awards for its developments in the UK and Isle of Man, and the company had to wait until last week’s awards ceremony at The Royal Lancaster London Hotel in Westminster to discover what level it had achieved in each category.
The 5-Star Awards went to Ballakilley in Port Erin in the Best Architecture Multiple Residence, North West England category; Dandara Living for the Best Lettings Agency, North East Scotland; Forbes Place, Stoneywood for the Best Apartment, North East Scotland; The Devonshire, The Grange - Best Property Single Unit, North East Scotland; The Meadows, Stoneywood - Best Residential Development, North East Scotland; Beech Walk, Hazelwood - Best Architecture Multiple Residence, North East Scotland and Union House, Royal Tunbridge Wells – Best Architecture, South East which additionally was awarded UK finalist.
As one of the highest-scoring 5-Star regional winners in the Architecture category, Union House will now be re-judged to determine the UK Champion; and, if successful, would go forward to compete against the 5-Star winners in other regions of the world – Asia Pacific, Arabia, Africa, Europe, Caribbean, Central & South America, Canada and the USA – with the ‘World’s Best’ developments announced at the grand gala presentation to be held at the Savoy Hotel in London later this month.
The additional award winners included two more Ballakilley, Port Erin citations: The Elm, Ballakilley - Property Single Unit and Ballakilley - Residential Development, alongside three Aberdeen development wins for The Lime, Hazelwood - Architecture Single Residence; The Windsor, The Cardinals - Property Single Unit and The Cardinals – Residential Development.
The awards, announced by Peter Bolton King – FRICS RICS Global Property Standards Director and presented by Stuart Shield - President of International Property Awards and Hannah Davis UK Marketing Manager for Bentley Motors, the Awards’ sponsors, were assessed by a 70-strong expert panel of respected professionals from throughout the industry, led by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, the Earl of Liverpool and Lord Thurso. Judging is focused on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.
Dandara Managing Director Seamus Nugent, said: ‘It is a notable recognition of Dandara’s high standards that we have received 5-Star ratings in seven categories of these prestigious awards as well as being winners in a further five.
‘The Property Awards, which are keenly contested and rigorously judged, assess a wide range of disciplines, including architecture, build quality, design and marketing, across many development types, and it is extremely pleasing to be represented in so many of the categories.
He added: ‘Every development is subjected to detailed scrutiny by a panel of international industry experts, so each accolade has been thoroughly earned; to win even just one award is a major achievement, so to win 12, including seven at 5-Star rating, is an outstanding accomplishment.
‘We are delighted to have once again received overwhelming recognition in such highly competitive awards, where our projects have been judged by strict criteria and standards against other leading developments from across the UK. We can confidently say each award is well deserved and has been hard earned.’
