SMP Partners sponsors 10 years of Rebecca House

by isleofman.com 6th November 2017

Rebecca House is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its Rainbow Ball with support from SMP Partners.

Leading independent corporate services provider SMP Partners is delighted to be the main sponsor of this prestigious event, which will take place on Saturday, 11th November.

At the black tie event guests will enjoy a lavish three-course meal and fabulous entertainment. Rebecca House (the children’s wing) of Hospice Isle of Man, will also host an auction to raise much needed funds.

The auction will include a bespoke, highly sought-after pastel portrait commission from internationally acclaimed portrait artist Svetlana Cameron, which has a reserve of ?10,000.

Svetlana is in high demand, set to work with clients in Moscow, London, Rome and India next year. The opportunity to bid for such a highly valuable commissioned piece is an exciting prospect, which is certain to raise a lot of money for Rebecca House.

Svetlana Cameron said: ‘My family and I will be moving to the UK in the spring so this is my farewell gift to the hospice. I am currently closed for new commissions and have a long waiting list as my diary is busier than ever so this is a rare opportunity to have a commissioned piece with an early sitting.

‘We hope for generous bids in the region of ?10,000 or higher for this unique lot, which is in line with my current prices for pastel portraits and my recent auction results where my pastel works sold for 10,000 and 12,000 (oil portraits selling for twice as much).’

Two dramatic portraits by award-winning contemporary artist Iain Alexander will also be auctioned on the evening, each carrying an auction reserve of ?15,000.

Sealed bids are also being accepted online at www.hospice.org.im/auction.

Mark Denton, SMP Partners Managing Director, said: ‘SMP Partners is proud to support the local community. Being involved with and supporting such an important milestone for Rebecca House, which does so much for the Isle of Man, is something we are very pleased about. We are all looking forward to celebrating with the charity and help raise more money to support the work they do.’

SMP Partners has worked closely with Hospice Isle of Man, including helping to raise an astonishing ?170,000 at a Garden Party in 2015.

Anne Mills, Chief Executive at Hospice Isle of Man, added: ‘We are very excited to celebrate 10 years of Rebecca House, and our sell out Rainbow Ball promises to be a magical evening filled with lovely food, fantastic entertainment and wonderful people. It is sure to be a night to remember.

‘We are, as always, incredibly grateful to SMP Partners for their continued support. It simply wouldn’t be possible to operate as we do without the amazing generosity of the local community.’

Rebecca House is a safe-haven for young people suffering from life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, providing respite, palliative and end of life care from our specialist,  caring and dedicated staff.

In addition to its charitable work SMP Partners has made its mark in the Isle of Man community, getting involved with sport and theatre in the Island, including sponsorship of major Gaiety Theatre productions such as The Producers and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat earlier this year.
